We all get frustrated with drivers in our cities. We know there are multiple distractions that are taking driver’s attentions away from the road. Even without the typical distractions: phones, movies, kids, etc., certain drivers will still drive recklessly, weaving in and out of traffic, speeding, and cutting other vehicles off. This means that you have a greater responsibility to drive on the defense.local-collision-center

While we all may think the worst drivers in the country are all congregating in our city, Allstate Insurance in Northbrook, IL did a recent study of the cities with the worst drivers. America’s worst drivers for 2016 are in Boston, MA. In fact, the drivers in Boston are 167.6% more likely to find their cars in a local collision center than the national average.

The locals of Boston are getting into a collision once every 3.7 years according to Allstate’s study. No one enjoys visiting their local collision center, and no one wants to find themselves there every three and a half years. At that rate, you would be referred to as “regular” within the shop.

The best drivers in the country award goes to Brownsville, TX. The average driver in Brownsville will find themselves in need of a local collision center once ever 14.6 years. This is about 31.4% less frequently than the national average. So when you’re driving around Huntington, hope the travellers on the road are from Brownsville rather than Boston.

Just because Huntington, West Virginia doesn’t have the worst drivers in the country doesn’t mean you shouldn’t drive defensively and be aware of all of your surroundings. Like we said above, there are a multitude of things that distract drivers on the road, and the number is increasing every day. Be sure to be aware of the other drivers on the road and the road conditions. You don’t want to find yourself in need of a visit to the local collision center. But if you do find yourself in need, East End Body Shop will be there to take care of your vehicle and you. No other company is as committed to improving the way people and their vehicles are cared for following an accident than us.
